A brief power outage in the City’s south side Thursday evening shut down all power services to the Community Knowledge Campus area, resulting in damage at the Aquatics and Wellness Multiplex and postponement of planned opening activities for Monday and Tuesday.
Equipment arrived on site on Sunday and repairs to the pipe rack have been moving along nicely. An estimated time of completion has been determined to be mid to later this week, without incident. If repairs can be completed by late Wednesday we will begin water testing and balancing in each of the pools. All tanks will need to pass water testing analysis before we can proceed with public access and opening.
Some additional scheduled work that was required to be done but slated for a later date, has been added to this shut down to attempt to save time in the future. This additional work impacts services provided in other areas of the Multiplex, but we are hopeful that if work is completed by mid week we may be able to consider a partial opening of the facility later this week not including the Aquatics side. “We will have a better idea of the status of a partial opening after Wednesday.
The one event we will proceed with is the Ribbon Cutting on December 10th at 1:30 pm. We are hopeful of a full facility opening at that time.
It is critical to the Vision of the Multiplex to provide excellent customer service and when key components are missing from the facility we feel we are compromising our service. The Community has been so supportive through this process and we appreciate their patience these last few days, as we try to put the icing on the cake to open the doors this Saturday!
